Leica M7 meets Kodak Portra 160 film

I feel very sad today because I came across news about Leica decided to stop producing Leica M7. Leica M7 is my best film camera so far. My favourite subject is my son who is constantly on the move (unless he draws something..) So I like Leica M7’s aperture priority mode. Focus and shoot not having to think about exposure at all! Unless there are complicated multiple light sources, I don’t have to even adjust it. Just put it in the middle, then Leica M7 will take care of it.

Especially with a slide film, one needs to be careful with proper exposure setting. But no problem with Leica M7. It does an excellent job! Chances are I don’t need to worry about it at all as my Leica M7 will last longer than my life. But I just feel sad.

The best way to cheer me up is to drink a cup of nice coffee. Then I started writing. Often times, combination of coffee and writing make me feel good. Once I felt better, I went through recent film photos I took with Leica M7.

Film count “0” is my favorite cut among 36 or 37 film photos. It makes the scene like magical. This one definitely cheered me up again.

From the 10th floor of my client’s office window (in the middle of Gangnam street). Right after heavy rain, Portra 160 film color comes alive.

At a Children’s museum. My son loves to draw. Evidently he liked this show of children’s picture book artists artworks. I was mesmerized by the work as well. Wish I could draw well, too.

Typically when it rains, digital photos appear rather cool but I prefer warm feeling Kodak Porta film creates.

Well, I felt sad earlier but after going through photos I took with Portra 160 film in a past week made me feel much better. I hope Leica makes next version of M7 (that supports Aperture Priority mode)! If not, I guess I have to treasure my Leica M7 more than ever.
