As a big fan of RF film camera, I’ve been using Leica M7 for long. Leica M7 has one big advantage. It supports A mode (aperture priority mode). It’s awesome when you need to shoot a moving object such as my son. (I never ask my son to pose, I just take a photo of him whenever..) When you are used to Leica M focus method, you can point and shoot when it is in A mode.
However, I’ve been wondering what it would be like to have a fully mechanical system like Leica MP. Since I wanted to own one more RF film camera, I went ahead and purchased Leica MP.
I ordered it in Dec 2018 but it finally arrived at the store I purchase all my gear on Monday this week.
To be honest with you, I was blown away by the look of Leica MP. It’s really beautiful. In fact, I like it better than Leica M7 in terms of its appearance. I just loaded Portra 400 film. So I need more time to get started on reviewing Leica M7 vs Leica MP experience.
I will keep you posted about my experience once I have developed Portra 400 film from Leica MP sometime next week!
