[Leica M7] Kodak Portra 400, ACROS 100 B&W

Before I started using film Leica Camera Leica M7, or even before digital Leica, my main digital camera was Fuji X-Pro2. (I still keep it although I don’t use it often.) I was mesmerized by fujifilm film simulation. About B&W, I liked ACROS the best. It makes black and white photography much richer. (High contrast yet very soft feeling). So it was always my dream to use real ACROS film but Fujifilm announced that they will stop producing it. Maybe because of the news or not much demand, it was quite difficult for me to get it in local shop(in Korea).

Finally I was able to get some and finished one roll of ACROS 100 film. It’s more than my expectation. In fact, it’s a way better than the one with X-Pro2 film simulation. Fine grain with strong black and white feeling yet very soft overall impression. Just the way I like it!

With B&W photography, my favorite film was ILFORD HP5 so far, but I have to admit. Fuji ACROS 100 is way better than that.

When it comes to black and white film, my preference has been changed, my color film taste is still the same. Kodak Portra 400 is still my best color film choice.
