Before Leica M body, I Voigtlander lens was my favorite lens. I have three Voigtlander lenses, 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Two of them are Nokton line and 28mm is Ultron line. Nokton is more like old Leica lens while Ultron is very close to Leica lens in terms of sharpness and clarity.

Since Nokton is usually very bright lens, you could use it under low light cafe (indoor) places. It also has a beautiful bokeh. With wide open, it produces a little soft image but over F4 or more, it gets very sharp.

Modern Leica M lens, even with wide open aperture, you get pretty sharp image, so if you need old lens look and feel, Voigtlander would be your perfect companion.

Since Leica M lens is very expensive, Voigtlander lens seems to be very cheap. But with Leica M body, it produces excellent images. Besides, it’s a little bit lighter than Leica M lens.

If you want to use Leica M body but if your budget won’t allow you to own Leica M lens at the same time, Voigtlander lens would be your best companion! Even if you already own Leica M lens, if you need old lens effect, Voigtlander will work for you!
