Most people around me try to avoid visiting Han river on a cold day or in the whole winter if possible. But I try to visit Han river on a cold day (especially after heavy snow). I love Han river. I love Han river even more when it’s really cold.

When it’s cold not only I can see very clear blue sky, but also I can enjoy the sound of the wind without being interrupted by anyone. (usually there is no one near the river.)

About 3 PM in the afternoon, sunlight makes a really beautiful scene through reflections. If it’s not really freezing, I would watch this for hours, but if you stand here for more than a half hour, you start feeling numb.

There is an artificial island which is called Sevit. I usually warm myself up after a half hour in the outside due to freezing wind. Then I could enjoy the view again. When it gets close to 5pm, the light changes over time quickly.

You can cross Han river bridge via walking. It’s a long walk but it’s worthwhile if you’re visiting Korea. Make sure to wear warm clothes! It’s extremely cold but again very beautiful.
