[Leica M7] The fun of using a different film – Kodak Ektar film

The fun of using film camera is that when you use a different film, it makes you feel like you use a completely different camera. Most digital cameras offer a JPG picture style or film simulation mode, but at the end, RAW files make it all the same. However, with a different film, it produces completely different outputs.

Kodak Portra film produces a rather warm image while Kodak Ektar film produces very strong image. Maybe more contrast with more red and yellow color in it.

Kodak Ektar film is perfect for buildings or general scenes. But it’s rather too strong for skin tone. I might need more tests but Kodak Portra film seems better choice for a portrait.

This symbol is to scare evil spirit from our ancestors. I don’t believe in superstitions but this symbol definitely has its own energy. I feel good whenever I see this one.

This is my favorite cafe in Samcheongdong street in Seoul. The clock doesn’t move, but it makes this place more unique. The color from Kodak Etar film is a bit exaggerated, however it’s perfect for this place.

Of course, you can turn your camera into a complete monochrome body when you have B&W film like Kodak TMAX 400. I am really thrilled to try new films! Endless possibilities  come with more fun.
