Seoul is a beautiful city. Like other cities Seoul has two faces. Night and day. I like them both. But occasionally I like night much better when I could be in certain places such as Han river, or Teheran street (also known as Gangnam street).
.

.
Teheran street is well organized and very clean. Building are in similar height, so if I stand in the middle of it, I feel like as if soldiers were standing still guarding me all the way. Evidently the best timing to visit this place is around golden hours(right before sunset and right after sunset).
.
.
Due to tall buildings, you can’t see sun clearly but you could see other things. Reflection from various buildings.
.
.
Now let the party begins! At night, you could use a tripod to capture shiny views but with Leica M10 (high ISO support) in combination with a bright lens such as 50mm lux (summilux), you don’t need a tripod to capture a beautiful moment.
Use high aperture number such as 5.6 or so, then you could see light becomes a jewelry or a start.
.

.
A wide angle view from a high building makes a stunning scene. In order to have a wide enough view, you need at least 28mm or more wider angle. 35mm might not be enough to old this beauty.
In order to avoid a tripod which in often cases, you can’t use a tripod near window or balcony area, you need a bright wide angle lens. In Leica’s case, 28mm Summilux 1.4 offers a great image quality but lens is too pricy. But you have an alternative solution. Or maybe even better solution. Leica Q comes with Summilux 28mm 1.7 lens. As the price is almost half the price of Summilux 28mm 1.4 lens, people say jokingly that if you buy a lens, it comes with a M body. I believe this statement is true.
.

.
What do you think? I could take a shot with 1/8 shutter speed with no problem as Leica Q has a OIS feature. OIS means optical image stabilization, also known as a hand shaking which causing a blurry image.
.
Leica Q and Leica M10 with 50 lux are my night companion. I can enjoy shooting street photos without worrying about blurring images.
